If there’s one thing we never skip while traveling, it’s our morning coffee. In Waikiki, the coffee scene is as vibrant as its beaches, offering everything from locally sourced Hawaiian beans to perfectly brewed espresso. Here are our top picks for the best coffee shops in Waikiki that you absolutely need to check out!
1. Island Vintage Coffee
Island Vintage Coffee is a staple in Waikiki, known for its 100% Kona coffee and delicious food. They have several locations across Oahu and the Hawaiian islands (we even found one in Tokyo), and everyone knows it. The line can get pretty long here if you go around 8am – 9am, but it goes by pretty fast. Don’t skip their açaí bowls or sandwiches if you’re feeling hungry!
While this place is on the pricier side, we have never had a bad meal here. Plus, their outdoor seating is the perfect spot to sip and soak in Waikiki. Pro tip: instead of ordering in the coffee shop, approach the host stand at Island Vintage Wine Bar next door, which serves their breakfast in the morning. We never have to wait, can enjoy our coffee and açaí bowls at a table.
Our favorite drink: Iced Hawaiian Honey Latte, half sweet, with oat milk
Address: 2301 Kalākaua Ave #C215, Honolulu, HI 96815 (inside the Royal Hawaiian Center)
2. Kona Coffee Purveyors
Located in the International Market Place, Kona Coffee Purveyors is all about deep flavor and quality. Their single-origin Kona beans are roasted in-house, creating a coffee experience that’s as pure as it gets. Pair a cup of 100% Kona coffee with a buttery croissant from the attached b. patisserie (trust us, it’s life changing). This is another spot with an intimidating line, and we’ll admit it can take a while to get to the front. Get here when they open to avoid a long wait!
Our favorite drink: Kona Cold Brew, black
Address: International Marketplace Kuhio Mall Entrance – 2330 Kalakaua Ave #160 Honolulu, Hawaii, 96815

3. Honolulu Coffee Company
You’ll find Honolulu Coffee Company scattered across the island, but their Waikiki locations are our go-to for early mornings. Their farm-to-cup philosophy ensures every cup is fresh and flavorful, made from beans grown on their own farm on the Big Island. We love this place for their seasonal lattes, and when we don’t feel like waiting in a long line.
Our favorite drink: Iced Hawaiian Latte with Oat Milk

4. Kai Coffee Hawaii
Nestled next to the Alohilani Hotel, Kai Coffee Hawaii is a hidden gem with a focus on small-batch, locally sourced coffee. Their Nitro Cold Brew is a fan favorite, smooth and refreshing with just the right amount of kick. The baristas here are also super friendly and happy to walk you through their selection of Hawaiian coffee blends.
Our favorite drink: Iced Kai Latte with oat milk (their signature macadamia nut latte)

5. Dean & DeLuca
Yes, the famous gourmet store has a Waikiki location, and it’s worth a visit! While Dean & DeLuca might not be exclusive to Hawaii, their Waikiki store offers an elevated coffee experience alongside delicious pastries and snacks. Their iced lattes are consistently good, and the chic atmosphere makes it a great spot to relax and recharge. They have a store at the Ritz Carlton residences (address below), but also have one at the Royal Hawaiian Center.
Our favorite drink: Iced Salted Carmel Latte with oat milk
Address: 383 Kalaimoku St., 1F, Honlulu, HI 96815
6. Halekulani Bakery
For a touch of luxury, head to Halekulani Bakery, located next to the Halepuna Hotel (our favorite to stay at in Waikiki) and across the street from the iconic Halekulani Hotel. Their coffee is as elegant as their pastries, which are crafted with an emphasis on quality and artistry. The latte and caramel croissant combo is our choice, but their seasonal specialties are always also exploring. This is our go-to pick for pastries (with Kona’s pastries following a close second!).
