9 Top Things to Eat at Disney California Adventure Park

We recently just got back from a trip to Los Angeles and spent on of our days at the Disney California Adventure Park, and let me tell you, our stomach’s are very happy! We all know Disney is magical, but the food is really what we go for because we both hate rollercoasters. So, we wanted to share some of the delicious things we tried, with a few season items from the Food and Wine Festival.

We hit all the areas of the park, from San Fransokyo Square to Cars Land to Hollywood Land, and even grabbed a treat on the way out. Keep reading for the 9 top things to eat at Disney California Adventure!

1. Clam Chowder from Aunt Cass’ Cafe

Eating clam chowder from Disneyland out of a sourdough bread bowl has to be some kind of right of passage — right? We were most excited to try the clam chowder from Aunt Cass’ Cafe because not only is Big Hero 6 one of our favorite movies, but clam chowder happens to be in our top food favorites too! Eating it out of a bread bowl (a sourdough one, at that) just elevates the experience so much more.

What’s unique about this clam chowder is it has white miso in it! We honestly didn’t think it was that obvious, but there’s just a little hint of it and it makes all the difference. The best part? Eating the sourdough bread bowl once it’s soaked up all the clam chowder… our mouths our watering just thinking about it. $12.49 and an absolute 10/10!!!!

2. Gyoza Sausage Bun from Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería

This is a snack that is very similar to a popular one at Tokyo’s DisneySea, and we’ve been seeing the gyoza sausage bun on social media everywhere. We made it our priority to make sure we tried it! At $8.99, the gyoza sausage bun is a steamed bun with ground pork and vegetables served with chili-soy dipping sauce. It honestly felt like we were just eating a very long version of a typical bao bun, but it was super juicy on the inside and the dipping sauce was the cherry on top!

Like everything at Disney, we recommend splitting this with someone else so you have enough room in your stomach to try everything else. We’d give this snack a slide 9/10.

3. Galaxy Churro from Senor Buzz Churros

I think getting churros at Disneyland is a must, even if you don’t like churros. What’s so fun about Disney California Adventure is the various flavors of churros they had around the park. Depending on where you were, they would have normal churros (cinnamon sugar), but then would also have another flavor/decoration that was specific to the area in the park you were in.

In our case, we stumbled upon Senior Buzz Churros and got the galaxy churro! Did it taste like a normal churro? Yes. Was it way cuter than a normal churro? Also yes. Crunchy, sweet, and a classic you can’t miss for $6.99, 7/10.

4. S’mores Caramel Tart from California Craft Brews

We got really luckily on timing during our day trip to Disney because it just so happened to be the start of the Food and Wine Festival at Disney California Adventure. The s’mores caramel tart was $7.00 and tasted like heaven. Definitely leaned more on the sweet side, but the chocolate and caramel were super rich and the salty graham cracker crust just pulled it all together.

We hope when you’re reading this, this sis something they bring back or is something you can try when it isn’t Food & Wine, but nevertheless we give this sweet treat a 8/10.

5. Cheeseburger Bao from California Craft Brews

Another Food & Wine Festival bite we tried (and loved) was the cheeseburger bao from California Craft Brews, the same place we got the s’mores caramel tart from. This sounds weird, but is exactly what it sounds like. They stuffed everything you love from a cheeseburger into a yummy bao bun. This gave us serious Big Mac vibes because it was topped with thousand island dressing with relish and grilled onions.

Does this sound kinda weird? It does but it was also our favorite bite of the day. $8.50 and an easy 10/10!

6. Strawberry Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich from Kayla’s Cake

This strawberry macaron ice cream sandwich was not practical on the day we went to DCA (it was rainy and 50 degrees), but it looked so good we had to get it. We *think* this little stall may have been at DCA because of the Food & Wine Festival, but we’re not 100% sure. Regardless, this was such a fun dessert and the macaron itself was delicious. The only con about this is it’s kind of hard to eat. Because it’s a sandwich, we wanted to grab it with our hands and eat it like one. It was a little messy because of the ice cream, so they give you a spoon to eat it instead.

For a whopping $9.50, we give this snack a 7/10.

7. Chili Dog & Fries from Award Wieners

After a long day, sometimes you just want a hotdog and fries. We don’t know why, but getting a chili dog sounded so good after a long day of walking and… eating lol. Located in Hollywood Land, we stumbled upon Award Wieners and stopped to re-energize. The chili was a little salty, but the hotdog and fries were delicious.

The chili dog is $10.79, the fires $4.49, but we give this meal a 6/10.

8. Matcha and Taro Churros from CA/Churro

Now, we don’t actually think this counts as being in DCA because we technically bought this on our way out of the park in Downtown Disney. We already had churros today but as soon as we saw matcha we had to stop. Each churro was covered in matcha sugar and taro sugar, drizzled with condensed milk and served with vanilla ice cream.

It was $7.99 for both churros (which we thought was a decent value) and give this last sweet treat an 8/10.
