Are you looking for the perfect gift for someone who works from home? Whether they’re a remote worker or just someone who prefers to work from the comfort of their own home, you’ve come to the right place! We’ve been working from home for the last 3 years and have had a lot of time to figure out what is absolutely essential to get us through busy meeting days and jam packed working sessions. From home office desk gifts, to small unique gifts that just enhance the working-from-home experience, this list has it all.

1. Standing Desk
Now we know this might be a little predictable, but standing desks really do make a huge difference. A standing desk is a great way to improve posture and reduce the negative effects of sitting for long periods of time. And, as you might see below, is necessary if you want to get some steps in during camera-off meetings. This one is affordable and does the job! Have not had any issues in the year+ since getting it, and it’s almost always on sale. The receiver of this gift will thank you for getting rid of their tech neck.

2. Walking Pad
We know this has been all over TikTok and Instagram for years at this point, but an under-the-desk treadmill has truly changed our lives. Staying active is important to us, and we’ve had to make some adjustments with working from home instead of walking to and from the office. Even after our morning workouts, it’s so nice to be able to stay active during the work day with our walking pads. We can easily walk while prepping for video calls or while working in spreadsheets, and have made it fun by doing step challenges with friends and family. If you’re competitive, it’s a great way to stay motivated to get your steps in! Walking pads can definitely be expensive, but this one is almost always has a deal.

3. Desk Light
A desk light is a must-have for anyone who works from home. It’s such a small addition to your setup, but it can help reduce eye strain, improve your mood, and make you look awake during any Google Meet or Zoom call. Better yet, you can find some really great, affordable options. Look for a light that offers adjustable brightness levels and color temperatures like this one on the left!

4. Wireless Charging Mousepad
We had no idea these existed, but they’re definitely at the top of both our wish lists this year! A wireless charging mouse pad is a versatile and practical accessory for anyone who works from home. This mouse pad doubles as a wireless charging pad, allowing you to charge your phone while you work. The foldable design makes it easy to store and transport, and the large surface area provides plenty of space for your mouse and keyboard. Your friends will thank you for fueling their TikTok time in between meetings. This makes a great white elephant gift too!

5. Bose QuietComfort 45 Headphones
Not all over ear headphones are made equal. Although there are definitely more affordable options on the market, a pair of really good headphones is a no brainer to invest in. The Bose QC45 are noise cancelling, comfortable, and can be used for way more than just working. We use these for long haul flights or commutes on the train, which make them the perfect versatile gift for someone important in your life. In fact, you’ll find this (and other great finds) on our travel gift guide!

6. DASH Rapid Egg Cooker
For those who love breakfast, an egg maker is a great gift idea for anyone that works from home. It’s a compact and easy-to-use option that can cook up to six eggs at once. You can make boiled, poached, or scrambled eggs in just a few minutes. We personally use this for medium or hard boiled eggs, and it’s a great tool to have when you only have 20 minutes in between meetings but need a healthy snack.

7. Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine
Okay yeah, this is a very high ticket item to have on a gift guide. It just felt wrong to not include it! This is the exact machine we use every morning, working from home or not. If you are coffee lovers like us, upgrade your espresso experience with a high quality machine like the Breville Barista Express. Whether we’re in the mood for an iced honey latte or a hot americano, our caffeine fix is always just a few steps away. If you give this as a gift to a friend that works from home, you will be in Santa’s good graces forever!
We do also have a Nespresso VertuoPlus machine, whch is a great option if you’re not quite ready for your own espresso machine. We love the convenience of it on particularly busy days, and love being able to try different coffee types of coffee really easily.

8. Warm Blanket
Switching gears to a much more affordable gift, blankets are always a good idea. We keep several within arms length of each of our desks because our work-from-home setups are by windows. Especially in the winter, an aesthetic, warm blanket is a fool-proof gift to give any friends with a home office. And it can double as a decorative item to spruce up your desk setup!

9. Cute Cup + Coaster
A cute cup and coaster set is a great way to add some personality to your home office. It can make any workspace feel more inviting and personalized. Look for a set that matches your friends’ style and personality. Better yet, give them a cup that will start a conversation when they’re drinking out of them on video calls.

10. A good lip balm
For those who spend a lot of time in front of a computer screen, a good lip balm is a must-have. The worst is getting on a video call and constantly licking your lips because you just realized how dry they are. Aquaphor is a highly-rated, tried and true option that will keep your lips moisturized and healthy. We always have at least one on our desks at all times.
When it comes to finding the perfect gift for someone who works from home, there are plenty of options to choose from. From practical items like a standing desk or noise-canceling headphones to cozy gifts like a warm blanket, there’s something for everyone. 🙂
