4 Of Our Favorite Hotels In Oahu

Here’s the thing with hotels in Oahu – you aren’t going to be spending all day in there (usually), but even so, you still want it to feel like you’re on vacation. There’s so much to see and do on the island that we wouldn’t recommend just staying inside your hotel room all day. That being said, we have a rule that hotels must feel like an escape to some extent, and have to be enjoyable to sleep in. These are our top picks for the best hotels in Oahu, ensuring a comfortable stay in the heart of paradise.

Halepuna’s Pool – they have delicious drinks out here too!

1. Halepuna Waikiki by Halekulani:

If you’re seeking refined luxury, Halepuna is the perfect choice for your Oahu getaway. Nestled in the heart of Waikiki, but far away enough from the strip, this exquisite hotel combines sophisticated design with genuine Hawaiian hospitality. Unlike a lot of popular Waikiki hotels, the Halepuna is tucked away from the hustle and bustle and exudes relaxation. From the moment you step into the elegant lobby, you’ll be greeted with warm aloha spirit. The spacious rooms and suites feature contemporary furnishings, plush bedding, and breathtaking ocean or city views. Unwind at the rooftop infinity pool, or pamper yourself at the serene spa.

Its higher-end sister hotel, the Halekulani, can be found just across the street and is available for some of the yummiest food! Definitely try the breakfast buffet, and at the very least check out the Halekulani Bakery, which is attached to the Halepuna. Their coffee and pastries are among the best on the island. 2. Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach:

If you’re looking for a vibrant and energetic atmosphere with a bit of a lower price point, Hyatt Centric Waikik Beachi is our choice. Located just steps away from the strip, this hotel offers modern sophistication and a prime location. It is close to all of our favorite food spots in Waikiki, so you’re never out of options when you’re craving something delicious. The stylish rooms are sleek, have comfortable amenities, and stunning views of the ocean or city. This hotel is definitely on the busier end, but it is impeccably clean and service is great.

3. Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber Hotels:

We have stayed at a few Outrigger hotels before, but the Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber is easily our favorite. Situated on lively Kalakua Avenue, this hotel is right in the center of one of Waikiki’s best areas for shopping and food. The well-appointed rooms and suites provide a comfortable sanctuary, while location provides convenience for any activity you have in mind.

On the lobby floor, you can find a cafe, which is convenient for a morning coffee and acai bowl, and Maui Brewing Company, which is a great place for a few beers and apps. One downside we found with staying here is that the hotel is often super busy because of the restaurants on site. The pool was pretty busy at all hours of the day as well, so we opted to leave and go to the beach instead.

Sheraton’s Infinity Pool

4. Sheraton Waikiki:

Experience the timeless beauty of Oahu at the iconic Sheraton Waikiki hotel. Located on the world-famous Waikiki Beach, this property boasts breathtaking ocean views and unparalleled hospitality. The Sheraton Waikiki makes our list for two reasons: one, because similar to the Halepuna, it’s tucked away from the busy streets of Waikiki. We love when a hotel is within walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants, but that is hidden away enough that there aren’t random people wandering the lobby.

Two, the infinity pool. Because of the location, you can swim with a good amount of sunlight as late as 4-5pm. The infinity pool overlooks the ocean, and there’s nothing quite like having a pool day with a drink in hand, watching the boats or surfers do their thing. That said, the rooms themselves could use a bit of updating, as could the hotel as a whole. And this hotel isn’t on the cheaper side – so if the most important thing to you is a beautiful pool that is pretty much attached to the beach, the price might just be worth it.
