More and more, Tokyo is being recognized as a global hub for vintage fashion and shopping. Whether you’re searching for a rare bag or unique piece of jewelry, you’ll likely find it tucked away in one of the city’s many vintage shops. Even if you don’t typically like vintage or thrift shopping, we promise it’s an entirely different experience in Japan! You might even find a few new outfits to wear during your trip! Whether you’re into more luxury vintage or thrifted streetwear, there’s something for everyone.
1. Vintage QOO Omotesando

Calling all luxury lovers! Even though this luxury vintage store is going kinda viral on TikTok, we just happened to stumble upon it during our last trip to Tokyo. We loved the selection of preloved luxury bags and accessories they had here — think Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, and YSL, all curated in a sleek, modern space. There were a few racks with vintage luxury clothing on them as well, in addition to a section specifically for men’s items.
The second floor had even more premium luxury, with a space dedicated to vintage and rare Hermès and Chanel bags. You can also find a selection of luxury watches spanning from Rolex to Cartier, with a variety of different styles.
If you happen to miss their location in Tokyo, they also have a luxury vintage store in Osaka, which we’ve visited before as well.
We visited around midafternoon on a weekday, and had no issues walking in with only a few other shoppers in the store. They offer tax-back as well, so don’t forget your passport!
2. Casanova Vintage

Another gem we found in Omotesando was Casanova. We were really impressed by this vintage luxury store! It’s not super big, but the selection looked carefully curated, and they had the best prices out of all the luxury vintage shops we ventured into. You can primarily find preloved vintage bags here, with scattered accessories and clothing items. We particularly loved the vintage Celine, Dior, and Louis Vuitton selection they had.
We recently discovered that a lot of celebs frequent this one, so I’d keep that in mind when you’re shopping around and looking at prices.
3. Amore Vintage

After seeing Amore Vintage all over TikTok, we knew we had to go here for some luxury vintage shopping. Amore Vintage Tokyo operates across three separate stores situated in two buildings. In Omotesando, one building accommodates Amore Omotesando and Amore Wardrobe. This is where you will find yourself in Chanel heaven. From bags, to accessories, to clothing, this location has a variety of rare and vintage Chanel.
The second building, which is a short walk from the first, is where you’ll find Amore Aoyama. This store doesn’t focus on one brand, but instead is a curated location of many high-end luxury brands like Celine, Dior, Fendi, Gucci, Hermes, Loewe, Louis Vuitton, and YSL.
We did not go to their Chanel location, since we were primarily on the hunt for Dior and Louis Vuitton bags. We visited Amore Aoyama during the week, but did wait 20-30min outside. They only allow as many shoppers (or groups, if you’re shopping together) as sales associates inside the store at a time, making sure you have the best experience.
4. Hedy Daikanyama

Hedy is one of our must-visit luxury vintage shops when we’re in Tokyo. This location is nestled a little outside of Tokyo’s city center in a really cool area called Daikanyama, where you’ll find a lot of cafes, boutiques, and other luxury stores. We particularly like Hedy because it’s a little more curated, and although their selection is smaller than somewhere like QOO or Amore, they always have some really great pieces.
You can find mostly vintage bags here, but also jewelry and a few clothing items. Heads up though, every time we’ve visited Hedy, we have walked out with something! We do not advise walking in here just to window shop, haha.
5. Kinji Harajuku
While we did go to quite a few luxury vintage stores, we also visited many traditional thrift stores. Kinji in Harajuku is a massive thrift store filled to the brim with all sorts of clothing for both me and women. At first, it might seem a tad overwhelming, but they have such a great selection.
You’ll find a little bit of everything here – from trendy pieces to vintage gems and even things like costume jewelry or cosplay accessories. You can also often find vintage, traditional Japanese clothing here, like kimonos.
Kinji has branches throughout Tokyo, as well as a large branch in Shimokitazawa, so be sure to visit one the next time you’re in Tokyo!

6. Chicago Harajuku
Chicago is a secondhand chain that has been around since the 1960’s. Today, it has expanded to include six stores, with five in Tokyo and one nestled in Kyoto. This particular vintage store stuck out to us because of its variety. You can find a blend of Japanese, American, and European styles under one roof. Chicago is also known for its exquisite selection of kimono and yukata, adding a touch of traditional charm to its trendier pieces.

7. WEGO
Looking for a mix of vintage and new? WEGO is a chain store that sells both brand new and used clothing. Browse trendy styles alongside curated vintage pieces, making it a great option for anyone who may not be a huge fan of thrifting. With multiple locations across Tokyo, we noticed that the selection really depended on where it was. We loved the flagship Shimokitazawa location, as well as the smaller locations scattered around Shibuya.
